On my Dell M60 laptop I have both windvd5 and powerdvd5. Suddenly they both do not work correctly, Windvd has video but no audio, Powerdvd has audio but no video!
Reinstalling doesnt help and Im on the verge of reinstalling windows which I really hate to do. This happened shortly after I installed G-spot, so naturally I suspected that was the problem, but uninstalling it didnt help.
Has anyone ever had this problem, can anyone give me any tips for finding the cause????
Thanks

GSpot shouldn't matter - but have you installed any codecs lately? Codec packs?

Looks like I'm gonna have to do a re-install of Windows.
Damn, I hate doing that! -
Maybe you can run both PowerDVD and WinDVD together simultaneously, that way you'll have both audio and video...lol... Sorry, just kidding.
It sounds like a codec curroption problem with the software players. Uninstall both players and delete the folders manually (there are folders left in Program Files location, even after uninstallation). Restart PC, install one back again. If all else fails, you can try an alternative player like VLC media player. -
