No audio when encoding iMovie VOB using 9u r2

Attempting to encode a VOB source produced in iMovie (vid: mpeg-2, 720x480, 7000kbps, 29.97fps; audio: dvdpcm, 48000htz, 1536 kbps)
to iPOD H.264 pre-set. In every trial no audio is produced (I tried audio tracks 0 thru 2). The source VOB plays well with "play" and "info" recognizes the audio source above. iPOD - TV pre-set encodes video and audio very well using same settings.
