  1. Hi guys i have a downloaded file which looks exactly the same as a file that has been split into many rar files.

The problem is that the filenames are different and wont extract with winrar. An example of one of these files is

    xpdvd-xxx(filename)xxxx-ntsc-dvdr-001

I have never come across this one before, any help would be greatly apprecited.

Edit...forgot to add when you right click, you do not geet the option to extract, and all the files are 47.5mb in size

ACE files are sometimes numbered. Example abc.ace, abc.001, abc.002, etc.

I've also seen .rar files numbered that way. You might make a copy of one and rename the extension to .rar and see what happens. Safer than working with the originals.

BTW, you do have 'Hide extensions for known file types' turned off in Folder Options?
