I was wondering if anyone can add to the list below of codecs which one can use to capture video realtime. I am generally using PAL video (720x576 25fps). But might be looking at higher res video (1360x1024 20fps) as well later.
Essentially, all I want to do is dump the video to hard disk, without losing too much quality. This needs to be done in real time, and ideally without taking up excessive amounts of space.
So far, what I have sucessfully worked with are:
* Uncompressed Video
* HUFFYUV
* DV Codec (if input video meets the specification)
* MPEG / MPEG2 although they are a bit lossy for my liking
So does anyone know / suggest any others.
By the way, I would like it to work on a 2GHz machine, so thing which use lots of CPU power might be an issue.
Thanks in advance for all suggestions
