Anybody got any ideas about this new JVC DR-MX1S? It seems like they got a lot of good stuff all inside one box. 80 Gig hard drive, DVD burner that does not only -R/RW but RAM disk too. The VCR upconverts from like 240 lines up to 480 lines for better VHS quality. The unit has two seperate tuners. I've been asking myself for years, "why can't somebody make a box that has a VCR, DVD burner and hard drive all in one box?" Now it looks like they did. This is something I've had the idea for and been looking for, for years. Only problem is the encoding. What's the encoding look like? Like stand alone JVC units? Does it have great encoding quality, great chipsets or great post/pre processing?

I've also ask about this unit on a couple of Forums with no luck..... It can be had for about $500 new and there are warranty refurbs on Ebay for about $425 My TV won't support the upconv directly but I don't know about a DVD direct dubbed from VHS in progressive mode......
I'm #3 and I don't even try!
