Um no. You have to have a capture card to record. They use either svideo or rca cables.

  3. I have the right video card. I am asking what type of cable do I need to plug in the VCR to the USP Port. Is it a IEE 1394 Cable or something else.

Assuming a VHS VCR. What kind of output does your VCR have? Maybe S-video, more likely composite. Unless you have a USB converter box? Then you would use a USB cable.

If you have a regular capture card, you would put the video out from your VCR to the video in on your capture card. The audio would either go to your audio card in or your video card audio in.

Telling us what exact capture device, card or otherwise you have would clear all this up quickly.

Not unless it has video input capability, not all of them do.
