    I want to set it between 9000 kb/s to 9800 kb/s, but it won't let me exceed 8000 kb/s.

Open the settings for "unlocked" then you can choose anything.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    Hi Wooooooo,

Yoda's correct, but you need to consider:

    a) Going from 9,000 to 9,800 is highly unlikely to make any noticeable difference.

As a guide, going to anything above 8,000 when compared to 8,000 is pretty unlikely to result in any noticeable difference.

    b) The max combined bitrate is something like 10.08Mbps (video + audio + subs etc.) and going to 9,800 doesn't leave much room for maneuvre.

    c) There are DVD players that freak out and can't cope with high bitrates - even good and top brands - resulting in stuttering or a frozen picture.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

ur probably right, but I still want to try it out though.

I still can't set it above 8000 kb/s. On 4/5 of the Project Wizard, I click on the expert button to bring up the MPEG Settings window. Then I click on the Video tab. On Rate Control Mode(already unlocked), I have it set to 2-pass VBR. I click on its setting button, For max bitrate, I still can't set it to above 8000 kb/s.

    Cancel the wizard
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. Turn off the wizard that comes on at start up. Put in your audio source, video source, and output path at the bottom. Then at the bottom right there is a button that says Load. Press it and in the TMPGEnc program folder where your video templates are there's another folder called Extra. Open in and there's a template called Unlock. Load that template and then you can change any option you want.
