I have a lot of different video files and types downloaded. Is there a way to view there encoded format? Meaning what there resolution, frame rate, etc, etc is of the file. Reason why I am asking is going to be converting some to play on I-pod and don't want to convert them at a setting higher than the original file. Thanks for any help!

You can load each file into a program like gspot. XP itself provides some info in the properties tab. And there is a third party utility/addon to XP that provides additional file information, but I can't recall at the moment the name of the prog.

If in doubt, Google it.

if your dealing with a lot of avi files (and only AVI), you may open all at once in Dvdate to check their stats.
