ive been looking for a good laserdisc to Dvd tutorial for quite awhile now ,
wondering if im getting the best quality in what Im doing .

    Ive been capturing with huffy
then re-encode with huffy with filters
    (dotcrawl,color correct)

    then frameserv to tmpgenc

    use more filters
    Inverse telecine, resize to anamorphic

then use DVDlabpro to demux and make menus
    and burn .

is there a simpler way then what Im doing or better .
this process takes along a$$ time.

"Inverse telecine, resize to anamorphic" is unnecessary.

A high quality hardware comb filter (for YUV separation) may make dotcrawl and color correction filters unnecessary or less so. I fail to see why a laserdisc should require color correction unless the error is being introduced during capture.

I thought about putting together a tutorial for Laserdisc transfers
to dvd's. I feel I have enough experiences (scars) to put one together
for you all. But at the moment, I'm pretty busy with my on-going YUV
image projects. So, it'll have to wait in between takes. Anyways.

I think turning laserdiscs into anamporhic is not a bad endeavor to
take. I think that there are a few users here that have tried it,
but did not meet up with success at it. I've turned 4:3 widescreen
captures to 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreens. IMHO, there is a certain
technique envolved. I can't quite put it in words. Least not at this
time. Maybe later in the future, when I have the time, I'll share my
experiences regard 4:3 WS -> Anamorphic conversions. Until then..

    I'm pooped. Cheers.

Most laserdiscs were mastered better. Typical practice was scene by scene correction on a Rank + DaVinci ( http://www.davsys.com/ ).

I don't know why anyone would need separate tutorial for capturing a LD
Aren't there enough guides on "how to do good captures" or how to crop FS (LBX WS i mean) to anamorph WS?

Now, what would really need a tutorial (related to LD) is how to dump AC3 sound from LD to your computer, this I have not seen anywhere...
