Hello, I'm looking for a DVD writer that will give me accurate burns. I don't really care about writing or ripping speed. I have about 200 TDK DVD-R discs I got from COstco. I don't know the media code of the discs.Thank you for your time.

Pioneer.
But you still need to use good media.
Not knowing your media code is already a mistake.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

I'd say Pioneer also but maybe that's because I've got a 110 8)

Quality media is far more important. Any decent drive (Pioneer, NEC, LG, BenQ, etc.) will burn 'A' media with minimal coasters.

Asking that question is like asking, "Which electric mixer will make me the fewest crappy-tasting birthday cakes?"

NEC.
I've been using NEC 2500 for 2 years or so, burning speeds from 2-8x, plus or minus, all kind of different media - zero coasters among 500 burned DVD discs.
Burning mostly with Nero Burning ROM 6. -

BenQ has been very reliable for me!

If your DVD player won't play recordables, you're screwed whatever one you buy...

I also have been using some TDK media bought at Costco - using a Pacific Digital burner - which is actually a rebadged Benq 1620. I have had a 100% success rate so far. But I do not burn at top speed either. I generally burn these 8x rated media at 4x - but 100% successful.
If I were on the market for a burner, I would strongly consider a Benq 1640. My 1620 has been an excellent device and Benq seems to make firmware updates available as new media types come available. I would avoid all Sony burners due to their lack of support and absence of firmware updating on previous models which just accelerates their obsolescence unnecessarily. -
SONY 810A & PLEXTOR 740 are rebadged BENQ 1640's. In my opinion the BENQ 1640 is the best burner at this time.
