According to the manual (p. 26) Titles are divided into about 5 minute chapters after fiinalizing. -R -RW(V) +R. Then on p. 31,
After finalizing...titles are divided into about 5 min* chapters.
*This time varies greatly depending on the condition and mode of recording.
OK. I get NO chapters no matter what length or mode it is. I've done 2 hours at SP, 1:45 at SP, 3 hours at flexible, all on -R. No chapters. Anyone have an idea why this is not happening? What I see is the blue screen with little boxes and a picture from the beginning of the program in the first box. No other boxes. No menu of chapters. Thanks for any help.

Those 5 min. chapters are invisible. With each press on the “skip” button you will move from one to another chapter in steps of 5 minutes. If you want to create visible chapters with little boxes you have to use “stop” button during the recording of the program.

Thank you so much. You are right. I suspect I would make myself crazy with the Stop button, but at least am able to jump 5 minutes at a time or whatever it is, so will just let it do its thing.
