  1. Hi, I'm having no joy trying to get MPC to work. I get audio but not video, no matter what the format. With WMP everything works fine except I can't get it to play DVD, again audio no video. I've tried loads of players and still getting the same problem as MPC. Can only get audio. Is this a codec ar a computer problem. On my laptop everything works fine.
    Many thanks

Please use a more descriptive title next time. Not just "Somebody help....please"

    Thanks

  2. I think you may need a MPG2 De-Coder.

Or Try PowerDVD. Installing this will also install a MPG2 Decoder.

Another program to try is VLC Media Player. Plays about anything. Doesn't usually need codecs. And it's freeware.

Media Player Classic has built in MPEG1/2 decoders. What do you have for output settings? Overlay? RMV7/9?

  5. Thanks for your replys, but I discovered my monitor wasn't selected as the primary display (the tv was, I had changed it a couple of weeks ago to watch a movie). I have got another problem now though, when I play movie files the video is a strange multi colored effect.

  6. Sorted it, I had to disable the overlay mixer and switch my setting to vrm9.

  7. Also found that having the latest video card driver helps as well
