  1. Can someone give me the easiest, most efficient method? I do not need to do any editing...I simply need to convert the dvd to mpg.

    Here's a screenshot:

    Thanks,

  4. Do you mean simple multiplex? I only want one output file (mpg) that has the audio and video.

You can try just rename to mpg...but it is not recommended because you can get no/wrong audio or other problems.

You can get video (m2v) and audio (in whatever shape ot's in, in the VOBs) with ReJig. Use TMPGEnc or mplex to multiplex back as mpg system stream. But mpg isn't very good material for editing...

  8. I'm running ReJig right now. Below is a screenshot of the dvd content in DVD Decrypter...I'm I going to encounter any issues with the LPCM / 2ch audio file?

  9. Well, ReJig generated a .wav file which TMPGEnc rejected with the error "multiplexing linear PCM stream to system...". I then read to try converting the .wav to .ac3 using ffmpeg.

So, I've multiplexed the .m2v and the .ac3 and I'm creating another .mpg...hopefully this will work.

TMPEG wil also demux and remux vob files. Demux the video stream and whichever audio stream you need, then remux those two streams.

  13. I'm not a Computer's god & i don't have too much time... For more sure i work:
    1. Demux VOBs with ReJig in IFO mode
    2. Recompress Audio with BeSweetGUI in Wizard mode (to MP2 or WAV->Audio Editor->MP2)
    3. Multiplex with TMPGEnc

  14. Ash,

Why do you wanat to convert to mpeg. Do you want to store the movie on you hard disk or what. Conversion is simple. Demux the VOB files using VOBEdit to video(m2v) & audio streams. Convert the ac3 audio to wav or mp2 using HeadAC3. Re-encode to mpeg with TMPGEnc with m2v file as video input and converted audio file as audio input. Be sure to select the corrent template VCD/SVCD to make compliant mpeg files.
