  1. Here is the problem... I have a DVD that I am trying to watch on my PC, but once I put the DVD into the DVD drive the thing just sits there and spins... it wont open a DVD player program... I cant even click on the drive letter of the drive without getting the My Computer window "Not Responding" error...
If I try to open PowerDVD it errors after a few minutes and tells me that the drive is busy... it does this without actually loading the PowerDVD player.
I have disabled autorun on all drives through WinXP, and I have disabled autorun using TweakUI.. and it still does it. if I could get the drive to STOP reading it I could then open a player and watch it with no problem... I think...

The actual DVD says, "Special Features - Auto Start and Restart"

    Any suggestions?

  2. Does it do this on all DVD movies or just this one? Also, does it do this on data discs as well or just movies?

  3. Just this movie. It never does anything like this with any other CD/DVD that I have played on the PC.
I actually stuck the DVD into my XBox and it brings it up as Video disc (classified actually as "Video" in the XBox BIOS, but sees it as an actual DVD), so I dont think it would be a scratch or something on the media... I dont see any visible marks on it anyway.

I can watch it on my standalone DVD player or my XBox.. I am just curious why it wont play in the PC's DVD drive... it just sits and spins... weird...

    old trick but
hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the disc and keep holding it down for around 5-10 seconds

try having the disk in the drive before even booting up

try using a bootdisk with drive support and copy contents to hard drive..

  7. Since it's just this one disc, I would suspect that you simply have a corrupt disc. Either something went wrong in the authoring/burning process or it has been damaged. You might try it in another drive, take it over to a friend's house and see if they can read it, but it's doubtful.

  8. Hmm... it's not a burnt DVD. I was able to copy the Audio_TS and Video_TS (I think that is what they are called) folders over to my HDD using the XBOX, but I have no clue what to use to burn them. I am headed off to work and I'll search around the site when I get back home. Thanks.
