Do you want to put a DVD's worth of data (4.7gb
or so) on a 0.6gb CD?

    I fear I don't understand.

If your wanting to put a movie onto CDs there are a number of different formats that can be used such as VCD, SVCD, ect ect. But those are not doing with DVD2OneX.

It would help if we knew what the final product your looking for is. A CD that plays on your TV? A CD that plays on your Computer?

well id like to take an avi and convert it to svcd (1 disc) and play it in my dvd player, i have ffmpegx, and i cant ever get it to convert an avi to an svcd.

Another problem, i have 2 avis that i converted with ffmpegx to the video_ts and audio_ts, but its bigger than my dvd can hold! any ideas?

Maybe a better question is , whats the best way to convert avi's onto a good quality to play in the dvd player?

Are you toying with us? Seriously, you're mixing two entirely separate work flows.

VIDEO_TS folders go on DVD's only, for standalone set top playback.

SVCD's will have EXT, MPEG2 and SVCD files and will be burned onto a CD for standalone set top playback.

Your Powerbook has a Superdrive so I suggest developing a DVD centered workflow and save yourself much trouble. In which case you'll need to create a VIDEO_TS file with an approximate size of 4.2 Gig's or under and then burn that onto a DVD.

Since your .avi converted to a VIDEO_TS folder that is too big for a blank DVD-R, take that VIDEO_TS folder into DVD2OneX2 and compress it to 4.4gb. That will burn just fine and play in your settop DVD player. Don't bother with the VCD and SVCD route at this point...
