Ok, I've read a couple of threads like... DVD+R9 Double Layer first burn: problems with layer switch and Backing up Dual Layer DVDs

but I'm still a little confused...

Usually I back up DL DVD's to +R SL by ripping in FILE MODE with DVD Decrypter, and using Nero Recode to back up. Its SIMPLE, I can walk away, results are watchable, and its worked everytime..

Anyway... As I understand for copying DL to +R DL, the best way is use DVD Decrypter to rip to ISO, then burn ISO to disc using DVD Decrypter which results in a 1 to 1 copy, no re-compression, etc.

But I already have these ripped in FILE MODE... is there anyway to use that to burn to +R DL and make a good copy?

Using recode doesn't work well for me in this case.. for various reasons...

Can I just use Recordnow DLX 7.3, make a "DVD" copy the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders as ripped and sitting on my HD, and burn? Will that work? will the layer break be adjusted if necessary, etc?

I would guess you could, since you probably ripped the IFO file with the layer break. Never tried it, only used ISOs. If not, re-rip the movies again to an ISO.

Yes, using RN7.3 just click on "Data Disc", give it a name (e.g. AVIATOR, THE_HIGH_AND_THE_MIGHTY), drag your AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS onto the window, and Burn.

I like to have RN verify my burns, and also use Nero CD/DVD Speed to ScanDisc for errors too.

The layer break will work; you may want to use PgcEdit to find it, and then verify it plays OK thru the break on one of your DVD players.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion, but now they really have to fix that interface!!

at least put the burn speed selection near the BURN button!! or something... not buried in the menus!

    Yikes.
