    TDA can do this, just set your intro as the first track and choose the "play first track" option in the Menu settings.

    is the intro the same video format as the rest of the DVD?

    it may already have a First Play VOB but you don't see it as it's just a black screen for a fraction of a second. I know ages ago I replaced a VOB with another VOB, ran it through Ifoedit using the dummy run procedure of doing nothing. Ifoedit then took the new VOB and updated the IFO's and it then played my test intro before the main menu

  4. i created the intro using windows movie maker then converted the wmv file to mpg 2 using video explosion then converted the mpg 2 file to a vob files

    i already used tda dvd arthur trial expired, any other tools or methods...

    all i want to do is put the intro before the main menu and movie...no rearthuring or anything just add intro/vob before main show

  5. If all you have the the vob files then you don't have a complete DVD and you'll need to do more work to get a DVD.

    dvd-lab free trial and can do this much easier than TDA. Learning curve is a bit steeper though.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    DVDRemake Pro would probably do it also but I'm not 100% sure . All I could see you doing is inserting a cell into the first play segment in the VIDEO_TS.VOB as it will probably be empty or blank

    I've done in many times when testing but it was a long time ago so I don't remember exactly

    or if that doesn't work you could add that VOB to it's own VTS, point the first play to that and then after playing it goes to the menu . You may need to create a DVD format out of the intro VOB though so you can add it as I don't know if DVDremake inserts audio/sub data when you just insert a cell

    a similar request in this thread

    http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/about3564.html

    Create a dummy DVD with the video/audio you want to use as intro.

    1. Import both into DvdReMake Pro.
    2. Copy VTS with intro from dummy disk and "add copied VTS" to another project.
    3. List title with intro in VMG titles (lets say it will be VMG Title Z);
    4. copy First Play PGC and add it to VMG program chains (lets say it will be VMG PGC X);
    5. delete all commnds from intro PGC and put "Call VMG PGC X (resume cell 1)" command to post-commands;
    6. put "Jump VMG Title Z" command into First Play pre-commands

    maybe there's no free software to do this since you've exhausted all your trial periods.

    Might have to pony up for some software
    If in doubt, Google it.

    ericshogan,

    This can be done by only editing the VIDEO_TS and last VTS.IFO files.

    You will need the VTS.IFO, VTS.BUP and VTS.VOB files of your 30sec clip. Renumber these files 1 greater than those of the movie folder. Copy them to the movie folder.

    Open the movie VIDEO_TS.IFO with IfoEdit. For simplicity we'll ASSUME the NEW NUMBER of title sets is {8}.

    Select VMG_VTS-ATRT 'Number of Video Title Sets' = {8}.

    Select VMG_PTT-SRPT 'Number of Title play Maps' = x+1. Write down the new number.
    Refresh the page and scroll down to the last title and enter the values.
    Title playback type = 20
    Title set number (VTS#) = {8}
    Title set Title-number (VTS_TNN) = 1

    Select VMGM_MAT/Frist play PGC.
    Scroll down to 1st Pre Cammand and right click and insert command.
    Right click on NOP and edit command/(Jump_TT)Jump to Title/Title Nr = (# you wrote down)

    Click 'Save' then 'Get VTS Sectors'

    The DVD will start with the 30sec clip but not return to the movie menu, so to return to the menu...

    Open the last VTS_IFO file (30sec clip {8}) and select VTS_PGCITI/VTS_PGC_1.
    If there are no 'Post cammands' then create one (right click on # of post commands =1) and refresh page.

    Right click on 1st Post command and edit command/(Call VMGM) Call VideoManager PGC/Pgc Nr = 1, Resume Cell =1.

    Click 'Save'. You're done.

    It's improtant that you do the VIDEO_TS.IFO in the proper sequence otherwise IfoEdit might crash. Also, save the original VIDEO_TS and VTS_{8} ifo files in case something goes wrong.

    Hope this helps,

    Chas
