  1. Does Sefy's templates (ie:SeVCD) only work with Nero?
    What about Adaptec EZ ?
I know many folks (including Sefy)rave about Nero, but I personally find it very user unfriendly. The layout and button arrangement is really not that good (although I'm sure its technical abilities make up for that).
Now,I should say that I'm a relative Newbie so maybe I'm intimidated but I find that although CD Creator 4 does'nt have the buffer underrun protection ,it is by far a more user friendly ,superior layout and offers understandability (is that a real word??).

  2. Personaly, I find Nero to be not just Technicly Superior, but also much more User Friendly and with the Power User in mind!

EZ CD is nothing more then a kids play with nice big buttons and absolutly no support for anything, and each new version is just a bigger buttoned interface with the exact same old and used features, and 10x the size.

Lastly, you can use the SeVCD/SxVCD with: Nero, TSCV, VCDEasy and those are just what I tested so far.

EZ CD does not support anything BUT the Standard Video-CD.

  3. Sefy,
Your knowledge on this subject is very impressive and I thank you for your suggestions and help.
Please keep in mind that the vast majority of the public who burn cd/vcd/etc,etc are doing so for pleasure and in my case as a hobby.
I admit that I'm only in the learning stages and hope to learn more, but as for your comment on Nero being user friendly!!!...mmmm?
Perhaps to yourself,Baldrick, etc, etc who deal on a daily basis with this subject and are obvious experts.
But,software designers have to realize that they are designing for "joe public" who are (in my opinion)someone like myself. So,my point is that NERO is not user friendly to many of us and I just wish that the Roxios and Adaptecs could satisfy everyone with a comprehensive design that would allow us all to be satisified.
    Sorry to ramble on!
My question is...do you have any instructions for using VCDEASY (loading your templates).
    Thanks Again

  4. wee haggis,

You are right as to EZCD is an user friendly software but at the same Sefy is right too. I have both software. Actually, I started with EZCD and found it very easy to use. However, as Sefy mentioned, EZCD is really a kids play. It couldn't do anything except standard VCD. I don't mean to say that EZCD is no good but nothing advance. Whereas Nero is a little complicate at first sight but once you know the basic steps. There are far more usage than just burning vcd. If you have time to surf around, go to the "How To" section and read its instruction on "How to burn VCD with Nero. I can guarantee that once you read it, you'll find Nero not as hard as it seems like.

To be honest, I also have VCDEasy but until now, I still don't know how to use it even after reading the instructions. Plus, for your previous questions, Sefy's Template are to be use with TMPGEnc. Jordan

  5. wee haggis, just like thenewboy mentioned, once you give yourself a bit of time to check Nero's interface, you will find it is not as complicated as it sounds.

Also, I may "seem" as experienced and advanced, but believe me, I still consider myself a newbie, that's why all my guides are from a newbie point of view.

I've had like most people EZ CD coming with my first CDRW, sure nice interface, but absolutly no control over anything, then I found Nero, and after checking each option, and closing the damn Wizard and got to the main program, you find you can do alot more and with alot more ease.

VCDEasy is a nice program, also user friendly style, but it is basicly a TSCV clone with less functions, for the beginer it is nice, but TSCV will give you more control.

  6. From the point of view of authoring X/S/VCDs, IMHO:

Easy CD Creator is easy to use but as others have stated, you can't really use it to create anything more than a rudimentary standard VCD. Nero is somewhat more flexible but its authoring capabilities leaves much to be desired.

For true authoring capabilities, you will have to use something like VideoPack or VCD Toolkit or VCDImager +/- GUI.
