I have Nero 6.6 software and used the CD-DVD Speed tool as I've seen seom screen caps of people using that to report how well the DVDs work for them. However, without the documentation to go with it, I simply don't know how to read the info. Yes, I have a registered copy of it and yes, I spent an hour at their site hunting and hunting for anything there to tell me what the heck the info means but to no avail.. it's like they don't want you to get to the docs! Weird

ANYWAY.. I wanted to test ProDisc 4X -R media with my Pioneer and Nero 6.6 to see if they are going to be good enough for my video applications. The result I got was a flat green line across the 4X mark and a yellow line that started at 4X on the left and curved nicely down to the 2X more on the right..

Now, what does this mean? Shyte media or good media?!

better yet, anyone know where the docs are located?!

I had everything running smooth for a year until I just recently had to change brand of DVD and now I basically have to start over to find what works best.. I'm nearly bald again.. sigh

Were you doing a 'Transfer Rate' test? Usually a good result will look like this:

Well that's not quite what I got.. my green was horizontal and my yellow was like where the green on your screen is at, but below the green line, all smooth and the yellow was a gentle clean curve. this was using ProDics S03 media.. 4X -R (these I have access to as they came from a local duplication company that they use all the time)

But when I used X8 Fuji (ritek) or Maxells +R the bars spiked all over the place and the drive sped up and down and went into conniptions.

This is with a Pioneer 109 burner using Nero's CD Speed 104
