    pls help me
i wanna get some info...i have VCD (650MB,75 menit) and i re-encode the Dat file(main movie) to DVD (low resolution) NTSC 4:3 ,352x240 29.97 48000khz,,video bit rate minimum i can get only 750 with estimated file size 1191 (1 G something).is it works or no,,,but as i know it should be 1150 kbps (it works and cost big estimated size file)

that is the lowest video bitrate i can go for
if i keep doing like this it means i only can put 4 VCD whiches play for 280 menit..
what i would like to now how to author the file to one dvd as much as i can ..so i can play 5,6 or 7 vcd in one dvd

  2. First, you don't have to re-encode to fit about 6 vcd disks on one DVD. Simply use isobuster to make a correct .mpg from the DAT file. Then use tmpgenc or similar to demultiplex the audio track from the video. After that use any sound software (tmpgenc can do it too) to convert the audio to 48Hz. Then use tmpgenc or similar to re-multiplex the audio back to the video.

That way you should keep the file around the original size, which gives you approx 6 VCD disks per DVD.

What I think you may be doing wrong is using a fixed bitrate when the original VCD was encoded using a variable bitrate. That way you are not only wasting time with the re-encoding process, you are ending up with a larger file size with no improvement in quality.

What part of OZ are you from?

You should be able to fit 6 disks without changing anything but the audio sample rate.

Here is a list of guides for getting VCD or SVCD to DVD

Avoid re-encoding at a lower bitrate. The quality reduction required to squeeze just one more disk on isn't worth it.

... which TMPGEnc DVD Author will do for you automatically.

All I do in this situation is use VCDGear to extract the MPEG out of the DAT file, then author with TDA. Job's right.
    If in doubt, Google it.

You can literally just extract the MPEG out of the DAT file (AFAIK the only real difference between the DAT and the MPEG is that the DAT is the MPEG with a few headers wrapped around it), and drop the MPEG into TMPGEnc DVD Author (it will upsample the audio to 48KHz without you having to do anything).

Just FWIW, please spend some time making legible, coherent sentences, with as much detail as you possibly can in regards to what you have, and what you want to end up with. The moment I need an interpreter to read a post in English is the moment I click on the "X" in the top right corner
    If in doubt, Google it.
