I was out shopping yesterday and found this deal just in time for christmas. I bought a pack for myself and left several on the shelf and a few cases too. Media is identified Prodiscr03. Burnt two in the stack and returned to the store to stock up as gifts. If someone you know needs media or goes through it quickly this is a good deal.

  2. FWIW the Staples by me (Central New Jersey) is still selling them today (Sunday)

That's the good news, the bad news is that I goofed and only looked at the package for the -R and not the +R discs. The Plus Rs I bought, 1 spindle, are Made in India and code as MBIPG101-R04-01, 4X, 6X, 8X, oh well although I haven't tried them yet I guess I can use them for thingsthat I only need to time shift for short term storage.

The -Rs are MIT and code as CMC MAG. AE1, DVD Decrypter on a Pioneer 109/509 shows them as 4X, 6X, 8X, 12X

So although ROF found Prodisc I found India and CMC.

OTOH I needed cheap discs for short term timeshifting and short term storage so what it is, is what it is.

I should mention that I do use quality MIJ for long term storage of data and video.

So heads up with Imation it seems to be sourced all over the map depending on where your Staples is.

    Cheers

I would personally just pass over this deal.

Unless you get a media you know has worked well for you in the past.
