have the JVC DR-MH30 and I am testing to see if how I can record of my satellite music channel but for some reason, I get a message "disc not recordable, insert recordable disc". I have tried different discs but get the same message. Is it not possible to record of the satellite? I have't even tried testing the movie channels. I am using the correct disc format which is -r. Any ideas?

ps - I know some members are familiar with the JVC brand, have any of you recorded of the sat?

I don't know that it has a feature to record music onto CD-R.

It will be video, not just audio. This is a DVD-Video recorder, not a music recorder. Hence the need for DVD-R, DVD-RW or even DVD-RAM.

If it can record audio onto CD-R it will require special music CD-Rs that include a license fee.
