  1. I have a question about the motorola DCT6412 DVR provided by comcast.

How long can live tv be paused? When I pause TV, a two-hour window bar comes up at the bottom, however I call comcast and they tell me it has a 45min buffer. Anyone have any info on this?

  2. I have the same DVR.

I don't really understand why anyone would want to do something like that? Would it not make more sense to simply record the program if you're going to pause it for 2 hours? (or even pause it for more than 5 minutes for that matter).

Maybe after you've been watching the same channel for an hour, rewind the "live tv" and see how far back you can go. It will probably only go back as far as 45 minutes. I think the length of the bar relates to the length of the program you are currently watching, so if it was a half hour program, the bar might only be 30 minutes.

That's what I would do, just hit the record button. I have a Directv DVR and it will only pause live-tv for 30 min
