  1. hello. anyone out there know a good way to find out the URL of a quicktime link? I found a quicktime video that i wanna save. I used URL Snooper but it did not show where the actual link is. It seems to be hidden.

    thanx!

Quicktime will save your file to your Internet Explorer cache - ie it will already be on your hard drive , you dont need its url . Getting it is the problem - if you have XP it will be hidden and I dont know how to turn on being able to see all system files , I use my 98se system to get them as it shows the system files on it . QT can sometimes rename the suffixes of the file to anything or nothing ie Video.mp4 or Video.mp3 , Video.qt or just plain Video .
To find it I let the video fully load and then do a search based on todays date and then click on the date tab to put them in order and the video will be the one at the top usually (you`ll see from the name and filesize) .

Sometimes it saves the file to the cache. Other times it just saves a pointer file so it knows where to stream from. You could try springing for QT Pro so you get the 'save as' and 'export' functions. Won't work if the author doesn't want you to have it though. Net Transport says it works with QT files - it might be worth a look.

I use firefox as my browser, if your Quicktime video opens as a secondary window, just right click in that window and select save page as, just make sure you save as web page complete. You will then be able to select where you wish to save it, in that folder will be your video file, if you have several clips, I would suggest moving just the video file to another folder, and delete the rest of the files, as you will get several of them, and if you delete the page without moving the clip, that will get deleted also.
