  1. In the Toshiba LCD TV 27HL85 manual, it say "Never connect a computer(DVI) to the HDMI Connector on the LCD TV". Anyone know why?
I really want to hook-up my Computer to this LCD-TV. I have a ATI9800-PRO with DVI Connector.

ATI would recommend the analog component adapter for that monitor.

Basically what ATI and Toshiba are saying is you are on your own for DVI to HDMI connection and neither are supporting it. Since Toshiba is not supporting computer resolutions, you will need to feed the monitor 480p or 720p resolutions and refresh rates to avoid potential damage.

480p is 720x480 @59.94 progressive frames per second (same as a progressive DVD player)
720p is 1280x1080 @59.94 progressive frames per second (same as a DTV tuner in 720p mode)
