nero/burner probs

I was setting up my buddys computer with nero express and i got a problem. The cd burner detects in windows but not in nero. Nero only recognizes the image recorder. What should i do?

What version of Nero are you using? Some newer burners aren't recognized by older versions of Nero. I never use the image drive, but it shows up in Nero, along with my other burner in the Recorder list.

Do you have the full Nero or just Express? I only use Nero ROM, the rest of the stuff I have never used as there are much better programs that do what Nero attempts. Nero is fine for burning and that's all I use it for.

If all else fails, use Nero Clean from their site and get all the Nero stuff out of there and re-install. If you installed a different version of Nero without cleaning out the old one, you may have problems also.

Could be you have an OEM version of Nero crippled only to work on a particular make and model.
