  2. Hey Lank, use the mpeg tools in TMPGEnc to cut your file after you encode it to mpeg, but be sure to make sure that you set it to Video-cd, or whichever standard you are using. I've found it cuts them quickly and easily, without any problems. Good luck!

  3. I have A/V sync issues when splitting files for VCD. Used Virtual Dub and saved the .wav of the files audio; then encoded w/TMPGEnc, and finally split the file into two using TMPGEnc. The resulting files play perfect on my PC but when I burn them, the A/V sync comes and goes and sometimes video speeds up/slows down. THe sync comes and goes the whole time. I am burning with Nero. Anyone know why this happens?

  4. Don't bother with VirtualDub if you can help it, it always creates problems for me. I just use TMPGEnc to do almost all of my encoding. The only time I use VirtualDub is to convert from a format not usable by TMPGEnc to an avi that uses audio and video compression then i encode it using TMPGEnc. Maybe that will help.

  5. Even If I don't use Vdub; (I am encoding a DivX avi) Just TMPGEnc to create a fair sized (1.3-1.4 GB) Mpeg-1 ; then split the file into two. The resulting 2 files play PERFECT on my PC but as I said before; Playing in my stand alone DVD (GE 1101p) the files look good for a bit, then the a/v goes outta sync. The video will speed up for a second or two also. It regains sync; then loses it over and over again. I have wasted dozens of cds. I will soon give up.

I dont think the problem is u encoding files, but the player it's self, i also had a GE and it did the same audio problems. Try the vcd on your friends dvd player, see what happens

@ lank-e, when you encode in CBR or VBR multipass mode, you can calculate the bitrate to fit on one CD, and "cut" in advance: advanced tab--> source range
Some people have problems with cut the mpeg2. So this is the way to avoid that trouble and it is more exact.

Cut after encoding with MPG tools, or use the source rnage function prior to encoding to avoid ANY possible synch issues. (FOr description see Sefy's DVD Ripping guide under the DVD ripping section to the left)

  11. I have a 1.5 Gb SVCD file and I want to split it in two. Is there any way to know the output file sizes before cutting? Because such an operation is quite much time consuming. I have used TmpgEnc12a.
