  1. New to the board anyways....

    I am making a movie in Sony Vegas and it is just over 40 min long. I saved it as an AVI file (NTSC DV template). Now, when I rendered the video, it saved the movie in 3 clips instead of one. I am making my menu in Encore and to link my movie and complete the whole deal, I need to have one clip. I noticed the 1st 2 clips were both 3.99 GB and the last one was the last 2 minutes of the movie (around 580MB). How can I save my movie (I want it to be of good quality) and still have an AVI file with only one clip instead of 3? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

    Probably because of the fat32 file system 4 gb size limit.
    Or do you have a ntfs file system?
    Right click on the hd in windows explorer and select properties to check the File System in windows.

    wozwick;

    Why not save as an Mpeg2 (this will save space, smaller file size)

    I have been using Vegas for 6 years now and every completed project is rendered as an MPEG2 NTSC DV and they look and sound great. Most of them are presented to the church using a video projector and even the enlarged screen view look good. So yes! I believe it will still be of good quality.

    Easiest to encode to MPeg2 in Vegas as said above. For 40 Min you can usc 8Mb/s CBR for highest quality. Then you can import the MPeg2 file into Encore for DVD authoring.

    You need XP or Windows 2000 for NTFS file system. At least one Partition needs to be NTFS to render the full DV file.

    Or you could render the DV file back to DV tape.

    List your computer specs.
