TMPGEnc DVD Author - Selections Don't Highlight?

I'm having difficulty getting my TMPG menu selections to highlight correctly when I try and select chapters. I've made a two-page track selection menu and I've aligned each of the tracks on the left and right, and even used the grid to align them up properly, but for some reason, a couple of the items will not highlight when I move up to them. I managed to get them to work okay when I roll down, but it just skips over some of the chapters and quite franky looks a bit unusual.

Has anyone else had this difficulty, and how might I ammend it?

The only thing I can think of is if you may have jumbled up the order of chapters during your process of aligning them left and right, such that two consecutive chapters may not be directly above/below each other. What happens if you continually press the "up" button ? Do all chapters get highlighted eventually ?

Actually, you have to get certain chapters highlighted and then go down to them, to get them selected. If I were to remake them from the top, how would you recommend I arrange them so they don't get discombobulated?

Finally, is there a program that I could use to take the VOB information and re-route the menu selection paths outside of TMPG?
