I am trying to burn VCD's and SVCD's in Nero 5.5.1. I keep getting an "unexpected file format" error no matter if I try to burn a VCD using Video CD or SVCD using Super Video. I have encoded using different settings with TMPG 2.02.31.119. I can't understand what the problem is. Please help me.

I have the same problem. I encoded a AVI file to MPEG2 with TMPGE, bitrate was set to 4000, and I burned it with the SVCD in Nero. I received an error message that the MPEG2 file I wanted to burn was not compatible Etc, I just picked the option to ignore and proceed, I burned at 8X, I have a 12X burner, and the project came out great. Played great on PowerDVD. Now I am going to buy a stand alone DVD player. What the error message in Nero is, or what it means I do not know.

At the risk of making yet another coaster...I can have it IGNORE the format I guess!?
