Cut/Join (Codec) problem with TMPGenc !

Hello,

I cannot use Cut/Join anymore in TMPGenc-MPEGTools. Sohow the created mpg files won't open anymore. When I select a mpg file, it looks like its getting opened, but no frame is being shown (just grey screen) and the file lasts "0:00:00".
I am 100% sure the mpg file is okay, and I've been using MPEGTools for over a year by now. But suddenly it stopped working.
After some research with Google I think it has something to do with a wrong video/audio codec, but I don't know which one.
Which should be installed and which one should NOT be installed.
The problem started after I installed TMPGenc 2.02 on my WinXP system. It did work for several movies, but suddenly it stopped working.
To make it even more strange; I've tried to re-install previous versions of TMPGenc, all gave the same problem EXCEPT for Beta 12a. This one could CUT/JOIN, but again after having done 2 movies it suddenly also gave up working.

ALL I wanna do is use CUT/JOIN, and I haven't found a better, easier program to do the job as easy as TMPGenc does. So I surely wanna keep using TMPGenc.

ANYONE ???

Think I finally solved it.
I saw more people have the same probblem so here's how I solved it;
I installed the MPEG2 codec that makes it possible to play DVD's under Windows Media Player.
Strangely enough I already could play DVD's under WMP, because I already had installed WinDVD.
But somehow this was the solution.
The MPEG2 codec can be found under the Tools section of this site;
