  1. Hello,

I'm partially sighted and using a Sony mini dv camcorder and a notebook to enlarge the blackboard in my university. I'm using Scenalyzer Live with its preview (which can be enlarged to the whole screen) to show what the camcorder is capturing. This works fine except for one thing: Sometimes the contrast between the chalk and the board is a bit low. I tried adjusting it by software (graphic card driver, Powerstrip..), but this does not work with the video preview.

So, basically I'm searching for a program which can show the dv preview on the whole screen (in an acceptable quality) and with which I can adjust contrast/color balance or anything that would help.

Any thoughts are welcome, thanks in advance

Which camcorder are you using? Most models have "exposure" controls somewhere in the menus, others have optical f-stop control to affect exposure as well.

I'll give some thought to a software solution.

  3. My camcorder has menu-wise exposure control, but with that I only get a brighter or darker image which doesn't help much. I tried changing contrast and gamma settings with software, the results on captured images (jpgs) were excellent, but as I said this does not work with live video.

I haven't found anything yet that will do this live in DV capture mode. Most editing programs will do it once the video has been captured.

Another strategy is to use the display card "overlay" controls. These will affect the laptop display but not the video being recorded.

  5. I tried something like that with the graphics card driver (nvidia) and it affects all but the window in which the captured video is shown. Guess this would be the same with all video like DVD, divx..

Try to find an app that uses an overlay window for capture display. I'll look tonight.

  7. Thanks, the window should be resizable, too. I'll look for it at the weekend
