Its a bug we've had it on work machines. Not sure of this fix though.

Should work as long as you have flash installed. You and IE user by chance?

Man, I tried to find the solution to that problem. I KNOW there is one because we had it before but for the life of me can't find the info. I'll ask around work.

There is an Office update that is supposed to fix this. It's actually a vulnerability IIRC. Remember that Windows update doesn't have this, Office update does. And in order to use Office update you need your install CD or some damn thing. All I know is I couldn't update at work because we don't have the individual installers, everything is imaged.

Another way (for future reference) is to get a hold of the Microsoft Installer Clean-up Utility. We had the same issue when we deployed Symantec AV 9 Corporate Edition too quickly.

If you go to Office Update and you are asked for your CD when installing, look for what's called the full-file or network admin install (for some reason they're listed differently sometimes). They're usually much bigger, since they include the files that Office is looking for from the CD. It takes longer to download, but you shouldn't need the CD. I have seen before Windows XP SP3 asking for the CD with the full-file, but I think that it only affected people with a custom application we had.
