    Hi,

    Grateful for guidance here...

    a) I have a Canopus ADVC55 and a Panasonic S-VHS recorder with Crystal Video etc...

Can anyone explain why when I am capturing video, when there is text or words on the screen, everything seems to wobble a little bit.

Is there a way to eliminate that?

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Seb

    G Day,
I guess I will throw out some things for what it's worth..First, without the benefit of actually seeing what you described,I will venture a few thoughts..
I presume in your preview screen while capturing video when white text is present the preview screen seems to bend in that area..
This can be caused by either the capture device or the display software itself..My guess is some how the extreme white area of the video signal
somehow interferres with the timing of the sync..This can sometimes be corrected with a TBC(time base corrector)..VHS signals are notorious for their poor quality..I have seen the TBC on my VCR do amazing things
to correct sideways bending of the picture..My advice is to see if you can somehow borrow or try a Standalone full frame TBC to see if it helps..
These units are somewhat expensive and there is no certanity that it will fix your problem..If memory serves me a popular unit is the TBC-1000..
You can google to get their web page..
Sorry I could not be more help.. Goodluck,
    Jolphil
Edit: I just looked on the Canopus site and noticed the A/D capture device has "S" video..If you can try that first instead of analog
