    Hello,
    I was wondering if there is a way to touch up poor quality xvid's.
    I would like to know how to alter brighness, color saturation and contrast before transcoding to DVD?

    Thanks.

  2. Hi-

    If you know AviSynth, then:

    http://www.avisynth.org/Tweak

    The Levels filter might help as well:

    And if you don't know AviSynth, maybe it's time to learn:

    It would be a worthwhile investment to learn it. Remember, when it comes to video encoding, garbage in = garbage out.

  5. Nah, not so hard:

    AviSource("C:\Path\To\Movie.avi")
    Crop(xx,xx,xx,xx) #get Crop, Resize and AddBorders from FitCD
    LanczosResize(xxx,xxx)
    AddBorders(xx,xx,xx,xx)
    Tweak(Sat=xx, Cont=xx,Bright=xx)
    #ConvertToYUY2() #for CCE
    #ConvertToRGB32() #for TMPGenc

    Though not as good as AviSynth, you could use VirtualDub for similar corrections and frameserve to your encoder. Be aware with either method that what you see on your computer monitor for color corrections may not be what you will see on your TV. Videos generally look darker on a computer monitor than they will when viewed on a TV screen.
