    What gives?
I have cropped and resized until the photo looks like hell and my PC says that it is 7.75kb

I go to the post window put in a message
hit the browse button, find the shot
Use the arrows and delete button to get rid of the spaces
    select, and copy the file
go back to the reply/post box
hit IM-G and paste, and them hit the I-M-G*
    hit submit w/o any preveiw
and I get a file too big warning

how do I make a file small enough to post or am I botching up some place else?

Yep, tried them all. PNG converts to way too big so I didn't figure that would work. GIF looks like, well I need to cut down on the profanity. I have cropped and resized JPEGS down to the point I dont think anyone can even make out the photo.

My guess is that I am dropping the ball during the post somehow

Here is where your problem is. You're copying the whole path rather than just the filename. Check your thread in the test forum.

Ok, this is getting really imbarassing.

My file says that it is a JPEG, 200X178 and 7.75 KB

I get a error message that says 204800 bytes max

    I'll try a few more

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

Thank you, thank you, thank you one and all!

It turns out that there where a few things working against me.

Too many periods or dots in the file name...Maybe?
My file extensions where possibly listed wrong or the file format from my cam was not complient.

    The fix?
Open the file in a photo editor and rename without all of the extra crap and save as a good known file type

And a special thanks to Shadow Mistress for pushing me on!
