I re-encode eyetv 500 HD programs into xvid frequently, but I end up with a file where the audio trails the video by about 75ms. I've tried to use ffmpegx's mux feature with separate video and audio "mpeg elementary streams" exported from eyetv, but it always fails. Can someone please explain the necessary steps to take?

  2. Does the sync issue appear in the same way in both "XviD ffmpeg" and "XviD mencoder"?

Yes, it looks like the signal coming from NBC is what's slightly out of sync. So I'd like to put it back into sync via ffmpegx. I'm guessing this would have to be done before encoding into xvid.

Isn't there someone here who has encountered this? I'm a Mac user through-and-through but my PC's friends take care of this problem very easily. It's frustrating that I can't seem to find how to do this.

  5. Perhaps try to open your (MPEG-TS?) files with MPEG-Streamclip. Then you may save them as normal MPG files and things could get better from there.
