I want to record my synthesizer on my computer and then burn cd or dvds. I was thinking I could use the audio inputs on my PVR card to do this with a 2MB/s video resolution and then demux the audio out. However, I would still have mpeg audio. Would it be better to capture the audio through my sound card (built-in in the Mainboard) in wav format? Or should I spring for an expensive sound card?
TIA

I'd try the audio in on your sound card (Or MB) and see how it works. Not much use going through extra steps with a video card. If you don't like the quality, then a PCI sound card may be a better setup.
