Converting from DVD to MPEG2

Hi,

I would like to convert DVD format (Audio and Video folders on my C drive) to MPEG2.

I have tried variuos S/W, and I finally have AVI format (See )

Once I had AVI file, I tried to convert it, using DVD2SVCD, to MPEG2 file, but the I got blak margin on the sides.

What is the problem?

When you say DVD format, you mean a VIDEO_TS folder? If so, it would contain VOBs, IFOs, etc?

And what format are you trying to convert it to? I'm guessing SVCD.

I don't know where AVI would come into this.

What is your final format supposed to be?

You are aware that DVD is already MPEG-2? You only need to extract the MPEG-2 files from the VOBs to get to that point. TMPGEnc DVD Author can do that.

You might want to clarify what you are attempting to do.

Try Womble MPEG Video Wizzard.
Just open .VOB files from your DVD and save them as mpeg2. Simple as that.

At a guess I'd say that you might have bbcode disabled in your profilem which means that the following tickbox is normally ticked when you make a post:





As a test, try putting the following text in your next post:

test

If bbcode is able, the word test should show up bolded. If it's disabled, then you'll see the bbcode tags.
