I have a TViX media player which happily plays most AVI files found on the Internet. I have also managed to successfully rip AVIs from DVDs that will play on the TViX using HandBrake (although I have to open and save them in Explicit to get them to open properly on the TViX). The problem is that the quality of the opening frames of the encoded AVI files are terrible using HandBrake, no matter what settings I use.

I have played around with ffmpegX for Mac and can create some superb quality DVD rips that play fine using VLC, but for some reason they simply won't open on the TViX no matter what CODEC I use. My TViX has the latest firmware available. Has anobody managed to create good quality AVIs that will play on the TViX using ffmepgX or some other Mac encoder? If so, how? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
