I recently got a hold of a video in mkv format which already had subtitles on it. I never had any problems with them when i was watching on my PC but when i moved it onto my tvix slim s1 the subtitles changed how they look and sometimes disappear. For example when there is one or more conversation going on or if there is a song with lyrics which is also subtitled it either only shows the lyrics or nothing at all, but when i watch it on my PC it puts the speech subtitles on the bottom and the song subtitle on the top.
It is most likely that the tvix is at fault because it seems to put in its own subtitles over the ones that where on the video originally, iv tried turning that off but then is just shows nothing
I would really appreciate if anyone could help me

What kind of subtitles? Open the mkv with mkvtoolnix and it will show the subtitle track.
It could for example be ssa/ass subtitles with position info and many players doesn't support such. -
