  1. When I convert files from wmv to xvid using TMPGEnc I get a problem. I get sound when I play the new xvid file on the computer. However there is no sound when I play the xvid on my dvd player.

When I use other tools to convert the wmv files I get sound on my dvd player, but som files get out of sync using these other tolls. Using TMPGEnc get the audio in sync, but I can't figure why there is no sound when I play the files on my dvd player?

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

What format, sample rate is the audio that TMPGEnc outputs? Take a look at the encode with a program like Gspot or AVIcodec and see if it's compliant with the Xvid format and your player.

TMPGEnc is a good MPEG encoder, not so sure about it encoding Xvid that well. I've never used it for that.

If you are getting out of sync audio with other encoding programs, might be better to find out why.

  3. I have tried lots of differnet sample rate and the problem is still there. Works on computer, but not the dvd player.

I have no idea why the other tolls get sync problems. They work on most wmv files, but some of them get out of sync. Have tried 3 differnet tolls and all get out of sync on the specific files. With TMPGEnc there is no such sync problems on any files.

Overall I also think that TMPGEnc is far better than any of the other simple tolls, but I wont be able to use it on WMV files if I cant figure whats wrong.
