  1. hello all. i wanted to research how to backup my dvds using my favorite app, shrink3.2 but without keeping unwanted extras while maintaining full menu functionality. i found this guide using shrink and vobblanker and walked through it without a hitch.

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=247372

it was very simple and very promising. the hitch came when i tried burning my newly backed up dvd with copy to dvd 3.06. I recieved the following error from copy to dvd:

    "assertion failure(C:\\Workplace\ifo\u_ifo.pas,line 4792)"

aafterwards, dvdcopy keeps spinning my disk giving me a message, "trying to build media list" or something like that. I let it spin with that message while it looked like it was formatting the disk but nothing happended and after 30min i cancelled the process.

any ideas what went wrong? i've encountered this with 2 seperate dvds, and never had this problems with any shrink alone backed up dvds before.

    my setup: pentium3 800 mhz with 512 ram 60 and 80gb drives,phillips dvd+rw 228, win98 os.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 'assertation error' was apparently fixed in 3.0.27 version.

    CopyToDVD 3.0.27
    - BUGFIX: Assertion failure on IFO parsing should not happen for the submitted problem (in VTSM_PGCI_UT, if several PGC-MENUs are mapped to the same location,
That may be your problem, something with the file structure, possibly the PGC-menus. Sorry, that's beyond my knowledge.
