    Isit normal for a Sata drive (300) GB to load really loud when being searched on or sometimes accessed?
    Theres no cycle clicks just soudnsl ike a drive loading but 10 times as loud..

    You probably haven't got 'quiet mode' set on drive.
    performance will be slightly worse (not that you'd notice) with
    it switched on, but your hard drive will be silent. My
    new drive was as noisy as hell till I set it to 'quiet mode).

    Go to your hard drive manufaturer's website and look
    for the utility to switch this mode on for your drive.

    On mine it was called 'Amset'.
