  1. Hi Guys,

I've read through a whole load of stuff on here and my brain hurts. I discovered that my DVD player (RVA 5225P) does not like VCDs on CDR (of course, I discover this with now 4 wasted CDRs ) so I purchased some Verbatim CDRWs and get slightly better results. I build a VCD with a menu using Nero 5.5. I know that the VCD works because my software player can use it. My DVD recognises it as a VCD and recognises that there are 19 tracks etc but it just will not play it. I am trying to burn now on a Memorex CDRW and see if that makes any diffence but anyone got any other ideas??

    Thanks

  3. I have an RCA RC5240P. I made an svcd with video clips followed by a slide show. The slide show plays following the video clips on a cdrw (memorex) but the slide show doesn't play on a cdr (maxell). I read somewhere (maybe here?) that the surface of a cdrw is very similar to the surface of a dvd (the shininess, I think) whereas the surface of a cdr isn't. So it looks like that's why my player seems to like the rw's better than the r's. So that might be the case with your player and cdr's.

  4. OK, winning combination I found:

    Verbatim CDRWs.
    TSCV to create the bin
    XDuplicator to burn the image

Haven't had any issues with this.

I did try a Memorex CDRW and got skipping on it. Again fine on the PC.

So, I've corssed off my list:
    Nero
    Memorex
    ny CDR

    and seem to be sailing!!

Hope this info helps you guys as well.
