  1. Anyway, got two questions.

    1. Whenever I played a VCD/DVD/DivX files with the DVD player, the player tends to not show some part of the video (Resize problem or sort....like the TV cropped the sides of the video for you.) How do I fix that?

    2. I heard this DVD player is possible to play Xvid Files, but mine never works. (Some just start in the beginning and then skip to the next.) How can you play XviD files correctly on this Player?

  3. xvid play fine, but make sure your files don't contain QPEL or GMC. Also it's good to keep your widths down to 640 pixels.

For Divx, QPEL is also bad, but GMC is okay. Widths up to 720 are okay.

To find if your file has QPEL or GMC use Gspot.

The previous posts are correct, but I wanted to add that if you are watching PAL video on it, the DVP-642 chops off video lines to make it fit on an NTSC TV screen. If you have letterboxed PAL video, you probably won't miss anything. I first noticed it when I tried to play a Chinese PAL VCD on the player. It played fine, but the VCD is older and it's pan and scan (fullscreen) with English subtitles at the bottom, which my DVP-642 cut off
