  1. For those who are not aware of scart lead its another way of connecting your TV and DVD player/recorder (after reading some of the other posts i thought to add this (http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/index.php?ref=10&cPath=26)

I've heard depending on a scart lead this can lead to bad/good picture quality between DVD recorders/players and TVs – is this true if so any recommended scart leads? and any advisable websites (for UK preferably)

    Thank you

I have one scart cable that is thicker than my thumb that I use for my DVD Player to TV connection....and NO you can't have it..

I wish it had a manufacturers name on it....I'd buy a few more of those for sure. That is the only cable I own that produces a noticeable difference in picture quality.

  3. Thanks. What about the gold plated scarts - do they make any difference or is that all a hype for extra cash in persuading everyone to buy gold plated?

I never bought any gold plated stuff....either when I lived in NTSC land or here in PAL land. I go for the gauge(thickness) of the cable as a selling point.

The quality of the screening between different conductors is far more important than the colour (you think your getting real gold for that money?) of the pins. Better screening means thicker cable, as Hech say, the thicker the better.

  6. Sorry for another quick question when you say thick scart cable woudl you recommend this one (although it may not be thick but it seems wide):

I'd give that one a try....looks nice. The gold doesn't impress me though.
