I bought the Samsung R120 and plugged it in for the first time but I can't seem to see anything on TV. I don't see any setup screen etc. I pugged the dish signal through the DVD recorder and I can see it on TV but not the setup screen. Its supposed to go to AUTO mode and selects its on time but it stayed in AUTO mode and after 5 mins quit.

I was finally able to get the signal but through component video and not the Antena out.

Anyone has any experience help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

Most of the DVD recorders I have seen do not feed their output through the Antenna out, on these it is just a pass through. To get the output of the DVD, you have to connect to the TV via the composite, SVid, or component outputs. I think this may have something to do with copy protection?

You may not be getting out of Auto mode if you do not have an antenna connected that has a signal from a broadcast station with a time signal (usually PBS). I did have this connected on my DVD-R120 but one of the three I tried would not see this signal so I had to manually set it.

    Thanks.

I did not know that yes it works with component out. So I just copied a VHS home video into it. Great quality btw at XP mode.
How do you finalize the DVD so it can play in other DVDs etc.

Manual says you have to finalize the DVD but does not say HOW?

    Any help
    Thanks

There is a section on finalizing the disk near the end of the manual (pg 82):
    Menu
    select Disk Manager
    select Disk Finalize

Thanks got it, did not look there earlier.

Can you change the chapter lengths. It created chapters even though I had it OFF. I guess they are created but do not show up in separate chapters in the menu section unless you have them ON.
