    Hi Pals.
I need a little help on using Compressor on a a job. I have a project to author a DVD and I use DVDSP. After capturing all the material on a VHS tape, edited and saved, I got a video with 1 hour and 42 seconds. Also I will put a slideshow (edited with FCP), which is 40 minutes long. Of course I will have to compress them separetly. How do I have to think to compr4ess them to fit on a regular DVD-R ? Compressor has presets for 60, 90 and 120 minutes. My project has almost 150 minutes. Of course, I would like to have everything in good resolution, but if it is not possible, at least the video should be better. On compressor settings, do I have to think in the total amount of minutes that I have for choosing the settings or the capacity of the disc (4.7 GB)?
    Please help me... lol

Step 1. Think of the Finalized disc with ALL Video run times added.
    ( 1hr42min =102minutes + 40min slide show is 142 minutes total video)

Step 2. Go get a BitRate Calculator and punch in your total
amount of video, and then minus a little for
the edge to avoid troublesome burning (4300).

    3. Set yourself a new Preset based upon these
settings with a High (MAX) of 5.0MBPS for your
MPEG-2, and then copy (duplicate) one of the
pre-existing AIFF presets, put both presets into a folder
name it " my dvd+slideshow preset", assign it
to BOTH the movie file and the slideshow file, and then run the batch.

    4. once done, bounce (import) into DVDSP, author,
    then burn.
