Hello,
First rip the individual chapters to your harddrive. Then use an authoring program like tmpgenc dvd author to create your dvd.

This is so mean. The Monkees just wants to rip trailers from individual DVDs and he's not getting any help. I'm working on a DVD trailer complilation myself so I can help you.
Watch one of your DVDs (that you want to grab the trailer from) in your DVD player program of choice. Navigate to the trailer and make a note of the exactly length of the trailer in minutes and seconds.
Now open DVD Shrink and go to Re-Author. Notice the tracks below the main movie and find the one that matches up to your trailer's time. Drag it over to the left onto your DVD project. If you're not exactly sure if this is the trailer, right click on it and set start and end points. You can move the slider through the video to confirm if this is indeed the trailer. Back it up to a file and you'll have your .VOB for the trailer.
There's more to do later but this is a good start. -
Or RIP the DVD first with DVD Decryptor, it will also remove the encryption.
Google is your Friend -
I don't recommend ripping the whole DVD. Your project will take much longer that way.

Firstly I copy the DVD to my hard drive , then I just import DVD-Video into TMPGenc DVD Author and then edit the bits before and after out that I dont want .
Doing it in the authoring program its also making the dvd at the same time of course . With half a dozen music video comps made this way , Ive found it to be the best or more precisely the method that requires the least amount of work to achieve the end result (this is essesntially what Yoda was saying above) .
As I have about 700 gigs of storage copying whole dvds across isnt really a problem , if space is a problem , making DVDs isnt really your first priority really IMO - get a bigger HD first .
